Riverchase Village drainage work is complete, and Glenwood Road bids are in

A Hoover councilor told WBRC that the Riverchase Village and Chester Street drainage projects are complete, Glenwood Road bids have been received and Lester Lane has bids out. The 2026 budget amendment we wrote about on September 28 is listed by the city as approved.

Two weeks ago we wrote about a proposed amendment to Hoover’s 2026 budget that would move $417,000 left over from the Riverchase Village drainage project to drainage work on Lester Lane, Chester Street and Glenwood Road (our September 28 post). This week brought three updates.

The budget amendment is listed as approved

The city’s resolution list shows Resolution 8991-26, “A Resolution Approving A Budget Amendment For Fiscal Year Ending September 30, 2026, for Various Departments Related to Capital Projects, Operational and Grant-Related Changes,” with the date 9/28/2026 (City of Hoover, Resolutions 8950–8999). The list carries no publication date; we read it on October 12.

What we could not confirm: we were not able to open the adopted resolution itself, so we cannot tell you whether the $417,000 figure or the three streets changed from the version described before the vote. The minutes of that meeting are on tonight’s council agenda for approval (City of Hoover, October 12 agenda).

Where the projects stand

Councilor Ashley Lovell told WBRC that projects on Laredo Drive, Chester Street and in Riverchase Village are complete. She said the Lester Lane project has bids out and that bids have been received for the Glenwood Road stormwater drainage project (WBRC, October 7, 2026).

Glenwood Road is bid 26-013, Glenwood Road Storm Sewer System Improvements, which we covered when it was posted (our September 14 post). The city’s bid page still lists it as closed, with bids opened September 30, 2026 at 2:00 p.m., and shows no bid results or award (City of Hoover, Bid 26-013). We did not find a Lester Lane drainage bid on the city’s bid list when we checked this morning, so we cannot give you its details yet (City of Hoover, Bids).

The stormwater committee wants questions

The city’s Stormwater & Infrastructure Ad Hoc Committee met with residents on Tuesday, October 6 (WBRC, October 7, 2026). On October 7 the city posted an invitation for residents to submit questions for the committee’s next meeting, which has not been scheduled yet. The city says public notice will be posted once it is (City of Hoover, October 7, 2026).

If you have a drainage question about your street, the city lists the Stormwater Hotline at (205) 739-6888 (City of Hoover, October 7, 2026), and WBRC reports residents can also email stormwater.drainage@hooveralabama.gov (WBRC, October 7, 2026).
